Discover the rich history of Banyule City Soccer Club

Our History

In 1969 the founding members of the Rosanna Soccer Club formed the club with the purpose of enabling as many kids in the area the opportunity to play football.

It was in this period that the north-east corridor of Melbourne was experiencing a population boom with no avenue to the game.

After a few years of developing local junior talent it was decided that the club enter a senior team to the state league competition as a pathway for our young players to progress.

The club has had many home grounds in its early days before settling for the large part of its years at Yallambie Park and Banyule Flats Reserve.

The club originally known as Rosanna Soccer Club, changed to Banyule City Soccer Club in 1995 to best represent the new City of Banyule Region and location.

With the club now at almost 300 junior members and our senior team competing in the top level of state league football, it can only be said that the clubs original aim and ambitions have been met with great success and we look forward to what the future holds for our great club.

Our Culture

We are a great family-oriented club with an emphasis on creating a supportive community amongst our members. We have a fantastic volunteer base who are genuine in their desire to become the leading soccer club in our region; promoting fun, inclusion, equality and fair play within a friendly and healthy competitive environment.

To achieve this, the club values are both simple and logical:

• The club shall not discriminate on race, gender or ability

• The club is inclusive and will encourage volunteer involvement in all aspects of our administration and management

• The club will offer registration membership fee at a fair price

• The club’s processes will be administered in a fair and transparent manner

• The club will engage with our community and local council

• The club will encourage fun and inclusion not winning at all cost - we believe winning is an outcome of engaged players, good coaching, team spirit and individual skills

Constitution

Our Theme Song

And it's a Grand Old Team to play for,

And it's a Grand Old team to see,

And if you know your history,

It's enough to make your heart go worrrrrrrrr,

We don't care what the other team say,

Oh what the heck do we care

Because we always know,

That there's gonna be a show,

And the Banyule Bulls will be there!

Bulls!!! Bulls!!! Bulls!!! Bulls!!!
